President Bola Tinubu made a colourful appearance at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Saturday to join residents and tourists for the celebration of the ongoing Eyo Festival.
The President’s arrival marked a significant moment for the festival, which was last celebrated in 2017.
Reflecting the occasion, Tinubu was dressed in the traditional festival theme of pure white.
Notably, he donned a black Akete hat adorned with white stripes and stars., with a black and white cloth draped over his shoulder.
Upon his arrival at the square, the President was received by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.
PUNCH Online reports that the festival began with colourful processions with residents, visitors and spectators.
The Eyo Festival is famous for its white-clad masquerades, rhythmic chants, and energetic dances rooted in Yoruba symbolism.
